Back again guys, and this week a I’m covering a few newer products that are available in beauty, skin and hair care, plus one that will be debuting next month. This one will be short and sweet, so let’s get into what’s new in beauty…
February has been a bit of a weird month for me. The weather has been strange in my little corner of the world, I’ve been ill a couple of times (highly unusual for me), plus some other personal drama has made this month one for the record books. So forgive me if this month’s chat is all over the place; that’s a bit like what my life has been recently.
I am one of those creatures of habit when it comes to makeup; I find something I like, and good luck to anyone who tries to sell me on something else. So I generally keep items until they are completely used up and/or worn out. My makeup brushes are a great example of this. I do have some brushes that have picked up in the past six months or so, like my Real Techniques face brush, which is dreamy for putting on foundation. But I also have some brushes that shames me to put a date on – no, seriously, I’m not going to tell you how long I’ve had them. It’s not that I don’t clean them, I’ve just been using them longer than any single brush should get used. So on a recent outingΒ I decided to try out a brand I had been hearing about for awhile now; the MODA Pro Makeup Brushes by Royal & Langnickel.
I noticed recently that it had been awhile since I sat down and chatted about an actual food item. Lots of trends, product and restaurant reviews, personal experience posts, but not nearly as many blogs about a single food item. And I was a little surprised to discover that in almost two and half years I had never talked about one of my favorite vegetables: asparagus. And with us being at the beginning of the typical harvesting season, it’s a great time to go a bit more in-depth about this popular veggie with a little bit of a “funky” reputation. But more on that later…
I am a massive animal lover. And also being a lover of all things beauty, it’s nice to be able to make those two loves compatible by the use of cruelty-free cosmetics. Disclaimer: I understand that this topic can be a little sensitive, as it is a moral issue and a personal choice that everyone has the right to make for themselves. I am not claiming to be exclusively cruelty-free, although I would eventually like to get to that point. So this isn’t me preaching at anyone, I’m simply discussing brands that I enjoy and bringing it from my own perspective. So let’s get to it…
It’s time again for me to flex my kitchen muscles and explore a little more of the culinary history of Kentucky. I really enjoyed the spoon bread recipe I made back in the fall, which you can read about here.Β I decided to go sweet this time around, because in the end, it’s really all about dessert isn’t it? Isn’t it? Oh well, I think it is. So I tried out the Blackberry Jam cake that belonged to the Wasan family, which originated in the mid nineteenth century. And as always, I just had to throw in a little twist at the end, because that’s just who I am. So let’s fire up that oven!
