Is there a better time of year to talk about masks than Halloween? Not that I need an excuse; if you’re a regular reader, you know about my undying love forΒ masksΒ of all kinds. I came across these sheet masks from major-league Korean brand Tony Moly recently, and didn’t think twice about about giving them a try.
Hello again! Time keeps marching on, and the weather in my neck of the woods is finally catching up to the calendar, so it’s not quite so hard to convince myself that it is in fact fall. Thank goodness I can finally pull out all those sweaters and boots I’ve been dying to wear for weeks now. So it’s monthly review time again, and here are a few bits and bobs that have not escaped my attention…
I feel like it’s been foreverΒ since I reviewed any new snacks, and I’ve recently been bored with a lot of what’s been on the shelves at my local supermarket. So when I noticed the new line of snack crackers from Mondelez International – the folks that own Nabisco and other major labels – I decided to give a couple of them a go and see if they could stand out in the sea of snacking options that we’re faced with these days. If you haven’t heard or seen the new Vea World Snacks line, and are looking for something a bit different for a snack option, just keep reading!
I did a recent clear out of my makeup stash and confirmed a pattern in my lip collection that I had already suspected; I have a thing for a good dark, vampy lip. And though dark lips are most associated with autumn and winter months, I will do my best to try to sneak one into my look any time of year. Although nude shades do run a close second, at heart I have always gravitated toward plummy, wine and berry shades, and I don’t think that will ever go away. So I thought I’d share some drugstore favorites from my collection, and a new shade I recently picked up. Because yes, I have a problem. I admit it.
We are now officially into fall people, and in my opinion, it can stick around as long as it wants. It is most definitely my favorite season, and although I don’t subscribe to the Pumpkin-Spice-Everything mania, I do like to celebrate the season as much as possible. Hey, I love pumpkin as much as the next person, but let’s pump the brakes a little bit, Starbucks! One of the foods that says fall to me is butternut squash, the not-nearly-as-hyped cousin of the pumpkin, that is still bringing plenty of flavor to the table (no pun intended.) And what’s easier than throwing a bunch of ingredients in a pot and calling it dinner? Enter Butternut Squash Bisque…
It’s not something that I go around advertising, but my birthday is in September. I’m not one of those, “Let’s go all out and celebrate me,” kind of people, but I also don’t turn my nose up at the little treats that offered up by various companies for customers on their special day. I particularly enjoy the goodies you can get from Sephora, that features freebies for folks during the month of their birthday. Although they generally are sample sizes, I appreciate that because I enjoy being able to try an item before I go all in for its full-size counterpart. So I happily snapped up the skincare set from Caudalie, and I wanted to share my thoughts on this classic brand and the bits themselves.
