I think one of the greatest struggles we all face – as far as our diets are concerned – is balance. Being able to enjoy the foods we love while trying to be healthy can be a daily issue. And for those who may be on a more restrictive budget, eating well is often a compromise, as the cost of eating healthier is much higher than that of loading the junk food into their carts. I recently picked up a dessert from one of my favorite brands, Skinny Cow, and it got me thinking about the idea of balancing diets.
At the risk of repeating myself, things certainly have changed for me since I found out I had cancer, and in more ways than one. One of those changes was to my diet; not only in the things that I could handle eating, but the fact that I am starting to be more and more particular about what I eat. Not only is this due to a general desire for better health, but also because of restrictions brought on by various medications I am now taking. I already talked about my diet last summer not long after my diagnosis. So when I came upon the Hail Merry snacks at the supermarket recently, I was ready to give them a try. Sweet treats? Made from better-for-you ingredients? Cute packaging? Sign me up.
I gotta tell ya, these makeup and skincare companies really know how to get me. I am always game to try a new product, especially skincare that is hydrating and won’t wreak havoc on my sensitive skin. Between that, a track record of great quality products and just some plain old cute packaging, I could not resist trying out something new from Bliss; the Makeup Melt Jelly Cleanser with Rose Flower.
Wouldn’t it just be great if you could get your makeup to last all day long, without having to touch it up? Admittedly, I don’t put as much effort into it as some do, but I would like to have my work preserved for more than a few hours. Thankfully there are plenty of makeup primers and setting sprays on the market that can do just that. I have tried a few of these sprays in the past, and there are some quality ones available. Recently I decided to try one from Makeup Revolution, a drugstore brand that is gaining popularity for it’s quality and affordability.
So here’s the thing; I normally wouldn’t do a review on something as trivial as a makeup wipe – I mean, they’re quite literally everywhere – but something happened when I recently purchased and tried these Yes to Coconuts wipes. I used them, and then as the evening wore on, I kept thinking about them. And formed an opinion. And then realized that I legitimately had something to say about them. And isn’t that (at least partially) what my blog is for? So this will be a short one, but bear with me, I have to get this off my chest.
Hey everyone, hope you’re winter hasn’t been too challenging so far. I received an amazing cookbook as a Christmas gift this year, and have really been looking forward to trying out one or two recipes from it. I have a hardcore love for Greek food, and I am lucky enough to have a genuine Greek person as a very close friend (who also happens to be an incredible cook). As she is the one who gifted me the cookbook, I felt like I would be remiss not to make good use of it, and expand my Greek cooking repertoire beyond spanikopita!
