Stress. Who hasn’t felt it at one point or another? Who doesn’t feel it to some degree or another every single day? And while there are plenty of ways to relieve it, one way that is natural, tasty, and won’t get you in trouble with the law (I hope) is through food. I decided to do a little looking into some foods that can help take our stress levels down a bit, and nourish us at the same time.

I noticed recently that it had been awhile since I sat down and chatted about an actual food item. Lots of trends, product and restaurant reviews, personal experience posts, but not nearly as many blogs about a single food item. And I was a little surprised to discover that in almost two and half years I had never talked about one of my favorite vegetables: asparagus. And with us being at the beginning of the typical harvesting season, it’s a great time to go a bit more in-depth about this popular veggie with a little bit of a “funky” reputation. Feeling the Beet – the Color of Good Health

Everyone has those one or two foods that they couldn’t stand in childhood and then somehow magically grew to love as an adult. My personal “Exhibit A” is Brussels sprouts. I wouldn’t have touched those things for love nor money when I was young, and now I’m basically ready to marry them (#allthebrusselssprouts). One food that certainly does not hold that distinction for me howeverΒ is the beet. God bless them, their beautiful color alone should be enough to merit some kind of affection from me, but I just never got into them for some reason. And yet I will not let that stand in the way of a good discussion about all the great redeeming qualities this little veg has. Love ’em or hate ’em, this week, we’re talking about the beet…Whlbt1
